Well I went to the track yesterday and I was fairly happy with the results, but it looks like my car is really laying over on the second half of the track for some reason. It felt strong from in the car, but I'm down 6-7 MPH from where I should be. I talked to other people and they said they were around where they should be MPH wise, so I don't think it was the slight head wind that was out yesterday. I'm hoping it's just the SC belt cause it's been on there for about 30k. My clutch only has about 3,000 miles on it since my last track passes and maybe 10k total miles so I'm really hoping that isn't the issue because I don't want to spend money on a new one.

Overall the car did pretty good despite the lack of HP. It went a best of 11.60 @ 115.92 w/ a 1.68 60' which is by far a personal best for me, but my last best was on crappy sumitomos 11.86 @ 121.85 w/ a 1.94 60'

Here's a couple vids. First one you can hear my car the best, but you have to turn the sound up a little. That was my 11.60 run I believe. Second one I raced a GT500. With me being down on HP it was a pretty even race after the launch. I went 11.69 to his 12.68

Ive always been told that the better your 60' the lower you MPH. And since you did drop your 60' by .3, being down 6 MPH sounds about right. But I could be wrong. Im still learning so bear w/ me.

I've heard that too, but I think it's normally like 1-2 mph and not 6-7. One nice thing about having a car like mine is that I know pretty much exactly what the MPH should be just because there's so many people out there running the same combo. I should be in the neighborhood of 121-124

Thanks man, it was at PRP. May be heading back Saturday with a new belt just to see if that was the problem.

According to PRP's website, the track is closed for the season.

This is straight from their site...

Track management is contemplating staying open for one more race day next weekend. According to Frank Tedesco, if the weather cooperates we will stay open next Saturday, November 1. To decide if we will race next weekend, we will keep an eye on the temperature and weather. . Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!

I only read the bold below it that said this:

SADLY THIS COMING WEEKEND, SATURDAY & SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25 & 26 WILL BE THE LAST RACING FOR THE 2008 SEASON

I should read the "fine print" from now on. :)

FWIW, when I had the ported eaton at 16#'s of boost. I did quite a few passes back in august (last year) at PRP and was trapped high 11's at 121-123 mph. I was terrible leaving the line (1.9-2.1 60's) on BFG DR's. Def. seems like your on the low side. My cousin in his 2.8 upper only/no port was trapping 11.6-11.7 et's at 118ish. Nice runs regardless.

Yeah, last year I went 121-122 in that same lane at PRP with ported eaton and 2.8 upper. Went as high as 125.98 in the other lane that reads mph a little high. ET's were 11.8's-12.0's. That was on sumitomo's though, so I was hoping to do a lot better with drag radials. I did get better ET's but I think they could have been a little better if I wasn't having some kind of problem that's making me lose power. Also before the port it was running about the same as your cousin's car, 118-119. Never got to run it with drag radials on that setup, but I did get it to go 11.92 @119 on street tires.

Found this vid from last year. Everything seems the same, but I guess something's off now. It's always something with this car, lol... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms8kfowDtEU&feature=related

mph def seems a little low ray. Is it true picking up the 60' will produce lower traps but thats little too low. I just browsed through my million videos of racing, all my 11.40's-11.80's were between 118-123. Heck even my 11.26 was only 123 which I feel is low, but I was pulling consistent 1.58's which helped. I'd definitly change that belt and give her hell. U got an ice box???

Nah, no ice box. I checked the IAT2's though and they were only getting up to around 120-130 at the end of the 1/4 which my tune isn't supposed to be pulling timing till 150 so that should be ok. Gonna try a new belt and hope for the best. I suspect it's the clutch again though :confuse:

Yeah, I couldn't really smell it before either. It doesn't seem to be the normal clutch slip where you could like put the car in 4th and floor it and see the RPM's rise. It only slips a little bit I guess. If it was completely shot I definitely wouldn't be running 11.60's. Gonna try new plugs and belt to see if that helps at all. If not then that pretty much narrows it down to the clutch. It's always a struggle to get this car to run up to it's potential at the track. When I first got it, it was tuning issues and the last couple years it's been the clutch. Hopefully PRP will be open Saturday do I don't have to wait till next year to find out.

what clutch u running? If u do in fact need a new one, I HIGHLY recommend the RAM powergrip HD. I ran 2 of them, best clutch I ever used. U know damn well the abuse my car seen @ the track and street, my first RAM had almost 20k HARD HARD HARD miles until it kicked the bucket. I always bought them from Lou, he always has a smokin deal on them! Definitly a learning curve to drive however, the puck design will shake the car some from a dead stop, but its worth it!!

Oh & also, the RAM helped my consistent 1.58's, dead stock rear end and suspension, w/ a set of et streets

Ram HD, lol. On my second one actually. First one was defective so Lou sent me another one. If I do buy another clutch I probably won't get another one just because of the bad luck I've had with them so far. First one had a defective pressure plate that wouldn't engage all the way. Now this one seemingly only lasted like 6-7000 miles. If I replace this one then I'll have the tranny out 4 times within 10,000 miles. No big deal if it was a t5, but the t56's are a bitch.

hmmmm do u have a quadrant and firewall adjuster? if so, is the clutch adjusted correctly? I'm up in the air now lol

Man if it is your clutch, I reccommend a Spec Twin Disk. They are awesome and drive like a normal stock clutch. They can also hold anything you can throw at them. Great clutches. But very expensive.

The left lane for my car is 3mph faster then the right one. does this help?

I wish. But to back up your theory I did go 119 in the left lane that day. I've gone 126 in that lane before though. I didn't really mention that cause I'm pretty sure the #'s in that lane are artificially inflated.
